Today Tammy got herself mixed up in some financial woes.
eBay has been preying on the young again. -Taking advantage of their blind lust for material goods.
So this very afternoon, and in a ravaged sort of voice, young Tammy asked for my assistance in revoking her own bid on 'The Hobbit'.
Some time after bidding Tammy had come to realize, with my help, that the seller was charging an unruly amount of money. Especially since, I reasoned to her, you could get the book second hand quite easily. The cost of the book plus postage was AU$9.00.
Now, to me this is a small fortune, and since I am the hoarding kind, I insisted she not go through with the purchase.
Reluctantly she agreed and after agreeing she then barraged me quite fervently with questions on how she could shrug off her responsibility to buy something she has bid on.
Tammy used all her fragility as the youngest and weakest member of this household, to pull me to the computer to write a half-truth ridden letter using a variety of one after the other reasons why young Tammy cannot afford to purchase 'the Hobbit' -the item she has bid on.
(Just now Tammy, the little waster, came in to torment me with her long arms and white fingers. And, after galloping all over my freshly washed and made linens...She laughingly demands to know why I arch my back and contort my facial muscles when she is near. Now she claims I am mean because I am not arching my back the right way -the way that amuses her most.)
Also this evening I have just had to complete the clearing of Tammy's name on eBay by confirming that she and the seller in question have indeed agreed together to end her bid and claim to 'The Hobbit'.
If only someone would venture to claim this little hobbit.
So ends the tale of the little love Tammy, and her financial mis-endeavours.
